• Happy Nurses’ Week!

At HWMH and Edgewater Gardens, Registered Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners are on the ground with front-line teams, still responding to COVID-19; treating those that are sick and protecting those that are not. This nursing week, we recognize and value the importance of the role of our nurses. HWMH and EG is proud to recognize all nurses for the quality of care they provide to patients and long-term care residents. From the bedside to the classroom and the boardroom, nurses make Ontario, our country and the world a healthier place.

    Ontario-wide Stay-At-Home-Order

Effective Thursday April 8 at 12:01 a.m., the government is issuing a province-wide Stay-at-Home order requiring everyone to remain at home except for essential purposes, such as going to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for outdoor exercise or work that cannot be done remotely. As a result of these new government restrictions as well as increased COVID cases in our local community, we have made the difficult decision to pause our inpatient visiting program. Virtual visits will continue. If you have questions please contact the Inpatient Unit at ext 1245.

To our caring community. If anyone is wishing to make a donation of masks, gloves, etc., in order to make it easier for us, may I kindly ask you to email Jessica Gordon, Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator, jgordon@hwmh.ca or 905-774-7431 X1227. If possible, please send a photo to Jessica as well so she can ascertain whether they are within guidelines. We thank you very much for wanting to help the hospital during this crisis.
