- 24 hours – 7 days per week
- On-site physicians and Nurse Practitioners
- Trained ED nurses
- Provide 5 Level triage care to approximately 24, 000 patients per year
- All patients are assessed and treated according to 5 level CTAS (Canadian triage assessment)
- Critically ill patients or severe trauma cases are stabilized and transferred to appropriate centers, usually in Hamilton
