Dr. Bell currently serves as the Assistant Dean for the Niagara Regional Campus of McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine and she brings a wealth of experience in medical leadership, clinical governance and educational innovation.
Dr. Bell has over 25 years of experience in family medicine and hospital-based care. She has a deep understanding of rural healthcare and she brings a wealth of experience in recruiting physicians and developing innovative partnerships.
Dr. Bell attended McMaster University for her undergraduate and medical school degrees. She then completed a residency in rural Family Medicine through the University of Ottawa. She has also completed a Masters in Health Science Education through McMaster University.
She works clinically in family medicine with a particular interest in women’s health, adolescent medicine and care of equity-seeking populations. Her areas of research include learner mistreatment, distributed medical education and faculty engagement and support.
Dr. Bell sits on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Niagara and is the Chair of the Governance and Nominations Committee. She lives with her husband in Port Colborne and is the proud mother of two young adults.
